Using dynamic HTML and JavaScript in Domino (continued)

The variables itStat$ and vis$ are also defined as port of the loop. With this method we can determine each project's X and Y coordinates, icon shape, color, and number of "pie pieces," and the boldness of the label in addition to the label itself. Clicking on each icon will bring up additional project information in the bottom half of the window, as shown in Figure F.

We follow the same approach for each of the charts.

Conclusion
This application tracks potential projects the company is considering and how each might affect the company over a five-year time frame. It presents a unique solution to a business problem facing many medium to large size companies. Namely, it allows a company to evaluate potential projects and their possible impact to the organization.

The application presents an innovative combination of Domino, JavaScript and cascading style sheets. Writing a JavaScript function inline with HTML inside of a LotusScript agent was challenging. The Portfolio chart was particularly challenging and the solution equally creative, yet elusive.

It was a lot of work, but worth it. Innovation is the winner of the 1998 Silver Inkwell Award for Excellence by the International Association of Business Communicators.
