Who's on your ACL? (continued)

  • Modify the agent to run on a scheduled basis and replace old ACL reports with new ones so you always have up-to-date information at your fingertips.

  • Schedule an agent to email access list reports to key personnel on a weekly or monthly basis.

Conclusion
Well, I don't think I'll have to enter the witness relocation program because of what I've revealed here. I might get whipped a couple of times with a wet noodle by mistress Helen, but at least I won't be blown in half by a shotgun blast. I have had to promise, though, that I would use my skill for good, not evil. I hope you'll do the same.

I think that the reason this agent is a useful tool is that none of us like doing the grunt work necessary to put together a complete access list the manual way. I don't know about you, but I'd sooner pick my nose with a potato peeler. [The editors at DominoPower would like to say we all shuddered at that visual. Thanks Dan!]

It's your turn to aim this agent at some of your databases and reveal everyone who truly has access to your databases. If you find something that surprises you, be sure to report it on the PowerBoards for this article or send me an email. That is, if your Notes or Domino Administrator is not standing there pointing a gun at you.
