TeamStudio Librarian (continued)

I also noticed that the filter only works with the name of the elements -- not with their contents. If you had a script library called MyScripts that contained a function called CalcuateSalesTotals you could not locate it using the filter. You could search for "Script" and it would find that, but a search on the filter word of "Sales" wouldn't find the element. Ives has said that this is due to be addressed in the next version of the product.

The bottom line
If you're new to working with design templates in Notes, Librarian is a great way to get started putting them to work. If you're a developer that has to add a lot of standardized design elements to a large number of databases, then Librarian could be indispensable and, in my opinion, might actually pay for itself in a single day.

If you're working on project that already has the design templates established and inheriting into your databases, then Librarian may not make as much sense for you. In this environment, Librarian could help you check for missing dependencies and help you quickly browse your application's design structure.
