LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
High praise for DevCon coverage
In the July 2000 issue of DominoPower magazine, John Roling offered a report from Lotus Devcon 2000 and Senior technical editor Dan Velasco gave his review of the DevCon Webcasts. In this month's letters to the editor, both receive praise for their fair and accurate coverage.
Appreciation for an honest review This letter was sent in response to John Roling's tradeshow report, "Something fishy at DevCon 2000" in the July 2000 issue of DominoPower at http://www.dominopower.com/issues/issue200007/devcon001.html.
I just read your review of Lotus DevCon and wish to thank you for your positive expression. As one of the key planners of the conference content, I found it to be incredibly valuable to read an honest review of the event from one of our developer-attendees. It sounds like you heard the messages we wanted you to hear, met the Iris folks we wanted to give you the opportunity to meet, and had the fun we wanted you to have. I wish to sincerely thank you for sharing that experience with the Domino world via DominoPower.
Sincerely,
Beverly DeWitt

Praise for a must-read piece This letter was sent in response to Dan Velasco's Lotus service review, "Catch Lotus DevCon sessions online with Webcasts" in the July 2000 issue of DominoPower at http://www.dominopower.com/issues/issue200007/webcast001.html.
Eugene Louie, from my old team at Lotus, passed along the article about the Lotus DevCon Webcast that you wrote. I was duly impressed with the detail and accuracy of your work. It articulates the very essence of the Webcasts reason for being so succinctly that I've asked everyone in the iBEAM Sales and Marketing organization to read it before talking to customers about the value proposition of our Activecast Solutions for conferences. We are very much on the same page with your suggested improvements and wish list. We will implement these as future implementations are funded.
