Is Notes a virus? (continued)
Can you guess what happened?
Well, of course, we started DominoPower. That was two and a half years ago, and we've been going strong ever since.
So why bring up Notes as a virus today? Well, to be honest, it came to mind because I've been observing the Notes virus in action in a friend of mine.
My buddy Steve used to work here. His job was tech support and computer maintenance, but from time to time we made him write a Notes article. When he left the company for a network administrator job at a bigger firm, he figured he was done with Notes for good. Sound familiar?
Last week, though, I got this call. He's up for a job as a Notes administrator. He's got the virus.
You see, the Notes virus isn't like a computer virus. It doesn't infect computers. It infects the people who use them. Because once you've got Notes on your resume, you're infected. There's no way out. You're just going to have to accept the fact that you've got job (or at least career) security. Once you've proven yourself as a Notes guru, you'll never get it out of your system (and never want for a job).
Me, I figure I'm done with Notes for good. At least until next month's issue. See you then.
