A first look at Rnext (continued)
FIGURE G

Here's an example of a simple JavaScript Script Library Roll over picture for a larger image.
Odds and ends The Rnext experience is vast, so only highlights are included in this article. A few other notes: the QueryClose and PostOpen LotusScript events are being phased out (or "deprecated"). The JavaScript onLoad and onUnload events now support LotusScript, so they take the place of QueryClose and PostOpen. Form events (as well as other elements) now have two run options: client and Web. This allows code to be included in the same spot for dealing with Notes and Web clients.
Conclusion Lotus is still working with Rnext, so some features may be enhanced, added, or removed. I used Rnext Preview Build 1 in putting together this article, which gives you an idea how early in the process we are. One thing is definite: Rnext provides a robust environment for building powerful applications that may utilize various Internet standards.
Product availability and resources Due to the fact that Lotus is not yet posting information pertaining to Rnext on their Web site, we're unable to provide you with a direct link. However, there are lots of interesting articles on the subject. You can find them by visiting Google at http://www.google.com/search?q=Rnext.
Bulk reprints Bulk reprints of this article (in quantities of 100 or more) are available for a fee from Reprint Services, a ZATZ business partner. Contact them at reprints@zatz.com or by calling 1-800-217-7874.
