Create a QuickPlace of your very own (continued)
Allowing Anonymous access If you want Anonymous Internet users to be able to access your site, go to Members, choose the Add/Remove Members action button, and then select Anonymous in section one.
When you access a QuickPlace that has Anonymous in the access list, you can use the Sign In link in the tools box to sign into the QuickPlace. If you eliminate the tools skin from your design, you can always use the "&login" URL command to log into the QuickPlace to see the Customize and Members links.
Useful QuickPlace links Let me finish this article by giving you some of the most useful QuickPlace links I've found.
The Lotus QuickPlace site at http://www.lotus.com/quickplace is the best starting point for finding out more about QuickPlace.
QuickPlace DevZone at http://www.lotus.com/qpdevzone will give you a lot of useful information, and hey, it's even a QuickPlace itself!
The QuickPlace Discussion Forum at http://www.notes.net/quickplace.nsf has the familiarity of the Notes Gold discussion forum and the usefulness of QuickPlace specific information. This is one of my most used resources.
The Customizing QuickPlace Redbook HTML version is at http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/SG246000.html, and the PDF (Portable Document Format) version is at http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/pubs/pdfs/redbooks/sg246000.pdf. This is an essential guide if you're going to explore QuickPlace customization further. I've only gone over a very small part of QuickPlace customization in this article, so for more information, consult this extremely valuable resource.
TeamAnywhere (SNAPPS) at http://www.teamanywhere.com is where you can try out QuickPlace free for 14 days and then pay $15 per user or less depending on the total number of registered users.
Interliant's AppsOnline at http://www.appsonline.com is where you can get a 30-day free trial and pay $14.95 per user after the trial expires.
Conclusion This will most definitely not be my last article about QuickPlace. At Lotusphere last year, I made a commitment to myself that QuickPlace would be one of the technologies I would really master this year, and I plan on doing just that and sharing as many insights as I can with all of you in the process. Rarely have I been as fascinated by a product as I am by QuickPlace. In fact, I don't remember being this excited about a product since I first started working with Domino. Years from now, I predict, I'll be telling some newbie developer how I started developing QuickPlace applications way back when it was only version 2.0. "Those were the good ol' days," I'll say.
