DevCon 2001 in review (continued)
- I've never been at Lotusphere when the temperature got into the triple digits;
- Mickey gives you something when he takes your money;
- You can see more countries at Epcot, and it's easier to walk around;
- The castle at the Magic Kingdom is more magical than the one at the Excalibur;
- Disney MGM Studios is more fun than the MGM Grand;
- While the pool at the Mirage was nice, I'd rather have gone to Typhoon Lagoon;
- There's a refreshing lack of hookers at Disney World;
- You can go home from Lotusphere without all of your clothes smelling like smoke;
- You can take your kids to Disney World without corrupting them for life;
- Disney cast members don't hand out pornographic literature to you.
Conclusion I've got somewhat mixed feelings about where I would like next year's Lotus DevCon to take place, but I can tell you without a doubt that I'm already planning on attending it no matter where it is. DevCon's focus on developers is the key to its value for me. It's great to take a look at the sessions being offered and to be able to choose between many subjects that are very interesting and relevant to what I do on a daily basis. That's why I'll be there next year, and I hope to see you there!
