Looking for a Notes job? (continued)

Additionally, you can post your resume to the database and use this resume to apply for any position in the job bank with a keystroke. This feature emails your resume and other information to prospective employers in a speedy fashion, providing them enough information to determine if you're a close fit for the position. This site strives to build a sense of community with its nice selection of links. Just Notes Jobs is a must visit!

Lotus Careers
Lotus Careers (at http://www.lotuscareers.com), like Just Notes Jobs, strives for a "community" feel, offering job alerts, resume posting, career tips, links, freebies, and news features. Clearly, this site is designed to keep you coming back. The site had 23 Notes jobs posted to it during the last 90 days.

Lotus Careers offers you a briefcase function, so you can track your job search and include in it your profile, which is searchable by employers. Consider book marking this site as well.

Lotus Professional
Lotus Professional (at http://www.lotusprofessional.com) has been helping Notes professionals find jobs since 1996 and is part of CareerMarketplace.com, a series of specialized sites. In the last 60 days there have been 10 new jobs posted here. I recommend visiting the "member companies" listing and sending your resume to them. This feature directs you to the Web sites of companies that searched for Notes professionals in the recent past. Additionally, for the self-employed, there's a link to one of Career Marketplace's sister sites, http://www.programmersforhire.com, an employer-searchable database of available contractors.

Lotus Notes Gurus
Lotus Notes Gurus (at http://www.lotusnotesgurus.com) offers users the ability to create their own homepages, which doubles as a resume. This homepage is then easily searchable by employers. As of this writing, there appear to be eight job postings in the last 60 days. While this is not the busiest of the sites we reviewed, if you're between positions, you might as well take the time to view the jobs and post your resume.

Domino Search Engines
From my research, there appear to be four Lotus Notes-related portals outside of the Lotus.com site. Two of these portals are making career development a priority. A visit to NotesNet.com and SearchDomino.com may prove to be time well spent.

SearchDomino
SearchDomino (at http://www.searchdomino.com) offers a career section with jobs hosted by FlipDog (at http://www.flipdog.com). This site should not be missed, as FlipDog is a great source of jobs. But be aware that FlipDog not only has job postings from employers that paid to run ads, but also assimilate s the job postings from corporate sites through marketing arrangements and spidering software. This creates a problem, as many corporations don't update their jobs pages, or keep positions online simply to harvest resumes for next year. Visit, but know some jobs listed may not be for actual current openings.

NotesNet.com
NotesNet.com (at http://www.notesnet.com) was the DominoPower Site of the Month last month (at http://www.dominopower.com/issues/issue200106/dpcoolsite0601001.html), so I checked it out. I was very impressed with the content and ease of navigation. I contacted NotesNet.com and was told in July they would be unveiling a new career section, with fresh content, job alerts, company profiles, and more. I recommend you check the site later in July.
