Looking for a Notes job? (continued)
Major job boards In any job search, the major job boards should not be ignored. My advice on using these sites is to "cherry-pick" the jobs that most interest you and apply for them. Ignore the time consuming procedure of posting your resume. Since these sites are so large and have a large variety of users, posting your resume might cause you to receive more calls than you really want, unless you're between jobs and you have the time to weed through the volume to find the needle in the haystack. Plus, sending your job to a large site means resume spiders and marketing arrangements might end up blasting your resume across the Internet. Potential employers don't want to deal with candidates who have their resume on file with every company in corporate America.
Of the major job boards, I recommend you first visit http://www.monster.com, http://www.dice.com, and http://www.headhunter.net and respond to specific positions while refraining from posting your resume.
Major recruiter networks As a recruiter, and having been placed by a recruiter previously in my career, I would be remiss if I didn't show you how to find a recruiter to assist you. The key to finding the right recruiter is finding one who is looking for you. Recruiters who would be looking for you specialize in the geographic areas in which you desire to work, or who specialize in Lotus Notes and/or Domino technology.
Two recruiter networks have Web sites offering searchable directories of their members, so use the above-mentioned tips to find a recruiter right for you.
Top Echelon
Top Echelon Network is the world's largest placement network, with 2,400 active Member recruiters. The 13-year old company is supported by a staff of 45 employees, and the average recruiter in the network has 15 years of experience in the business. Visit http://www.recommendedrecruiter.com to find a Top Echelon recruiter who suits your needs. You can also search jobs and send your resume to its national database to be viewed confidentially by dozens of recruiters in your industry.
Recruiters Online
Recruiters Online (at http://www.recruitersonline.com) is a global community of recruiters and has been on the Web since before 1994, when I first started checking out job sites on the Internet. Use the "locate recruiters and headhunters" feature on the first page of the site to find a recruiter who suits your needs. This site also offers a database for your resume and has an excellent job bank. This site should be the first stop for readers outside the U.S. in particular.
