Boosting the printing power of Notes and Domino
By Cybernet Software Systems, Inc.

Over 80 million people use Lotus Notes as an integral part of their business. Notes plays a central role in the groupware, collaboration, e-business, and knowledge management strategies in many of the world's largest corporations, as well as in thousands of small and medium-sized businesses.

Lotus Notes is a powerful combination of an application development environment, security facilities, a database management system, a distributed object store, and a powerful rich-text processor. These features, along with the unifying nature of Notes, make it the platform of choice for a wide range of line-of-business applications.

Many of these Notes-based applications require printed output to work within the existing processes and procedures of the company. Printing and reporting features in Notes are limited for certain advanced printing requirements. Notes users and application developers have sometimes been frustrated by the printing limitations in Notes.

Cybernet Software Systems, Inc. (at http://www.cybernetsoft.com), has a solution to these requirements: IntelliPRINTPLUS. IntelliPRINTPLUS for Notes provides significantly enhanced printing capabilities. It's a compact, client-side add-in that provides a broad range of powerful printing features such as print preview, background printing, printing on preprinted forms, printing of specified ranges, printing bar codes, printing simple reports, and printing mail-merge letters, envelopes and labels, all in black and white or color. These printing capabilities can be invoked using LotusScript, allowing powerful printing capability to be tightly integrated into Notes applications.

IntelliPRINTPLUS extracts the data from the database and places it in the correct format automatically. Best of all, the printed product reflects exactly what the user sees on the preview screen. In fact, the product won the Lotus Beacon award in the year 2000 for the Best tool/utility solution.

The product comes in two versions: a Notes client version and a Domino version. The Domino version supports Web clients and enables users to view and print reports through a browser. Sophisticated reports can be developed on a Notes client and can be accessed over the Web by clients accessing that database for previewing/printing through a browser client.
