Deeper into managing corporate aliteracy (continued)

Iconographic drag and drop user-customizable applications
SOAP XML Transactions can be used to leverage Cognitive Mapping to provide users with the ability to intuitively build their own reports through an object containment interface with underlying JSP tags that issue application assembly instructions to the underlying J2EE Java server. Highly scalable multi-threaded component applications, natively compiled for performance, can thus be assembled on-the-fly in response to user requests or even to self-collaborating data to minimize performance challenges inherent in data marshalling. XML ontologies can be used as templates to ensure that application component and knowledge transaction integrity are honored. That way real-time user-customizable applications work.

Discussions for future articles
In future articles, I plan to discuss self-assembling, self-optimizing, and self-repairing applications. It's sufficient to know for now that the concept of semantic convergence with object-oriented design architectures like pre-conditions, invariant axioms, and post-conditions maps nicely to the characteristics of active-reflexive knowledge management technology, providing knowledge application developers with theorem proving technology that facilitates the building of powerful risk management and curriculum management applications through semantic convergence. Such technology can also apply to a number of non-knowledge and information management applications, such as the advanced engineering and fabrication of physical products and beyond.

It's interesting to note, as we climb the abstraction hierarchy of information into advanced Knowledge Management technology using cognitive science, that a much wider array of physical engineering applications apply the same natural concepts: leveraging the simplification beauty of nature's detailed systematology.

Summary
Domino provides a powerful rapid applications development environment for building active-reflexive Knowledge Management applications where a Knowledge Management API and SOAP XML knowledge transaction interface supports contextualization and recontexualization for knowledge hunting and automatic knowledge object and knowledge view generation. Iconographic interfaces that leverage DOM, XML, and JavaScript generated from underlying associative data relationships can provide users with an intuitive collaborative knowledge discovery environment. Such iconographical interfaces can even be used to provide non-technical users with an intuitive interface to assemble their own customizable Knowledge Management applications through the JSP and Java Servlet metaphor using SOAP transaction envelope transports under the hood.

Reactivating dead knowledge pools
Corporations waiting for all the pieces to come together to begin the process of acquiring the technology required to build such active-reflexive Knowledge Management application environments, should step back and take a reflective look at where they are and where they can be by leveraging this powerful new technology now. In today's tough global marketplace where productivity through leveraging existing knowledge resources is critical to success, we can no longer afford to rebuild knowledge we already have trapped in dead knowledge pools that litter our networks.
