Lotusphere still has the magic (continued)
Mobile and wireless
I'm still searching for that perfect mobile/wireless solution that will seamlessly keep me synchronized with my Notes information wherever I am. I saw a lot of interesting solutions that I'll be taking a closer look at in the coming months, including Pumatech's Intellisync Anywhere server (at http://www.pumatech.com/Intellisync_Anywhere_DominoR5.html) and Wireless Knowledge's Workstyle for Lotus Domino (at http://www.wirelessknowledge.com/Products/workstyle_domino.asp). Now I'm looking for a killer device to help me take advantage of what these products have to offer. My ideal solution is a Pocket PC/Cell Phone combination device that will automatically synchronize with a Domino server wirelessly, but I'll have to wait at least a few months for that. But I hope that by the end of the year I'll find a combination of server software and client device that's too compelling not to adopt.
Other things
Of course, no sooner do I write what I'm going to focus on next year than I remember all of the additional things that I want to learn more about as well. These include Web services, WebSphere, Mobile Notes, Domino Everyplace, J2EE, Java, etc. But, I can't focus on everything, so these things will have to simmer on my mental back burner for now. As it is, I wonder how many of the five things I listed above I'll really have a chance to master this year.
For more information about Lotusphere 2002 As much as I love Lotusphere, I come back from it every year feeling alternatively overloaded and hungry for more. The reality of a show like Lotusphere is that you can never experience everything there is to experience about it, no matter how many times you go. But you can experience more of it vicariously through the eyes and ears of others. Here are some great resources to find out more about Lotusphere 2002:
The Turtle's Lotusphere Diary
Whether you went to the show or not, this is the ultimate first person day-to-day account of what it's like to go to Lotusphere. You can find it by going to http://www.weightlessdog.com and clicking on the "Gonzo Lotusphere 2002 page" link and then the Lotusphere Diary link on the left.
Lotus Advisor Reports
Lotus Advisor did a multi-part report on Lotusphere 2002 that you can find at http://www.advisor.com/Articles.nsf/aid/SCHWR14.
Notes.net Lotusphere 2002 pages
You can find daily digests from Lotusphere that include great pictures and insight into the show at http://notes.net/lotusphere.
More pictures I always like looking at other people's pictures of Lotusphere, so I offer you here some additional pictures that I took with my Canon S100 digital camera this year.
Maybe this more professional picture of Richard the presenter in Figure E will help you forget the image you saw earlier.
FIGURE E

Richard looks far more professional in his role as presenter. Roll over picture for a larger image.
Fellow DominoPower writer Mick Moignard and I got treated to some one-on-one magic at the press party, as you can see in Figure F.
