Replic-Action makes data migration a snap (continued)
Flexibility is the corner stone of Replic-Action's replication. Data can be transformed upon either import of data into Notes or export of data back to DBMS. Notes formulas, data transformation tables, or external lookup tables are available for this process, with each possibility displaying its own set of requirements when selected.
The job: getting the work done The components have been defined, and now a job can be created. Once again, Casahl Technology has created the flexibility for you to select one of four job possibilities: replication, data transformation, stored request, or realtime. The design elements on the forms are consistent with the design elements on the component creation.
Sections are used to differentiate basic job definition from the job schedule and the notification list. The forms tout clean lines and pleasing colors. Viewing the job on the form is not your only choice. Replic-Action has provided a visual interface of what you have created. To see a picture of the job, just click on the Data Flow action button at the top of the form. Or perhaps you would like to test the job before you put it into production. Well, just click on the Execute Now action button. Other features include the ability to add an include table (if you've forgotten to do so already) or check the uniqueness of the key you have created.
Oh yes, and one cannot forget to mention the "H" word--yes Help. The online help manual is simply another Notes database. It's easy to navigate through and select items you need assistance with. As shown in Figure E, each form has a section with links to problems specific to that form.

Each form has links to help you troubleshoot problems specific to that form. Roll over picture for a larger image.
However, if there are times when online help is not enough, this is when the call to support technicians is needed. Calls are answered promptly and cheerfully. The people at Casahl know how to talk to people and have the wisdom to know that not everyone understands things the first time. They have the patience of saints. I know.
This review only gives a glimpse into this robust application. Seeing is believing, and Casahl Technology is more than willing to let you see their product. You can go to their web site, http://www.casahl.com/RA/default.asp, and download a copy of Replic-Action. You'll immediately receive a confirmation email and an invitation to contact them to receive your "key." If you don't call them, they'll call you. Not to bother you, but to help you get started. Information as well as goodwill abounds. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I wasn't.
