Building a Content Management System using Lotus Domino: a tour of the XML API (continued)

All site index functions return exactly the same data in exactly the same DTD format. The only thing that varies is the sort order in which the individual rows of data are returned.

The reason that the site indexes are provided in so many pre sorted indexes is because this reduces the need for CPU intensive sorting operations to occur on the machine that is reading the XML data.

If the URL contains:

  • SortAsc: then the site index is sorted in ascending order;

  • SortDesc: then the site index is sorted in descending order;

  • GroupedCategory: then the site index rows are grouped into the document categories;

  • NotGrouped: then the site index rows are not grouped.

Site Indexes sorted by document creation date are as follows.

(XMLsIndexCreationDateSortAscGroupedCategory) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexCreationDateSortAscGroupedCategory).

(XMLsIndexCreationDateSortAscNotGrouped) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexCreationDateSortAscNotGrouped).

(XMLsIndexCreationDateSortDescGroupedCategory) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexCreationDateSortDescGroupedCategory).

(XMLsIndexCreationDateSortDescNotGrouped) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexCreationdateSortDescNotGrouped).

Site Indexes sorted by document headline are as follows.

(XMLsIndexHeadlineSortAscGroupedCategory) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexHeadlineSortAscGroupedCategory).

(XMLsIndexHeadlineSortAscNotGrouped) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexHeadlineSortAscNotGrouped).

(XMLsIndexHeadlineSortDescGroupedCategory) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexHeadlineSortDescGroupedCategory).

(XMLsIndexHeadlineSortDescNotGrouped) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexHeadlineSortDescNotGrouped).

Site Indexes sorted by the document's last modification date are as follows.

(XMLsIndexModifiedDateSortAscGroupedCategory) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexModifiedDateSortAscGroupedCategory).

(XMLsIndexModifiedDateSortAscNotGrouped) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexModifiedDateSortAscNotGrouped).

(XMLsIndexModifiedDateSortDescGroupedCategory) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexModifiedDateSortDescGroupedCategory).

(XMLsIndexModifiedDateSortDescNotGrouped) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexModifiedDateSortDescNotGrouped).

Site Indexes sorted by document publication date are as follows.

(XMLsIndexPubDateSortAscGroupedCategory) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexPubDateSortAscGroupedCategory).

(XMLsIndexPubDateSortAscNotGrouped) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexPubDateSortAscNotGrouped).

(XMLsIndexPubDateSortDescGroupedCategory) can be seen at http://domino.touchdown.com.au/dpsg.nsf/(XMLsIndexPubDateSortDescGroupedCategory).
