LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
DominoPower makes a difference
It's always gratifying to be able to help someone else in the DominoPower community. In this edition of Letters to the Editor, we received good news from the owner of last month's DominoPower Site of the Month at http://www.dominopower.com/issues/issue200209/dpcoolsite0902001.html.

Hit parade
I just wanted to let you know about the increase in hits to nsftools.com, just since you featured it as a DominoPower Site of the Month this past September.

As of Sunday, September 22 at 5:32 AM, I've received 325 hits that used DominoPower as a referrer (that's just the entry-point hits, not the total pages viewed once the visitor was there). And that's including a very slow Saturday, so just about all those hits were from the first three days that the article appeared.

It's also interesting to see the number of different countries represented, based on reverse lookups of visiting hosts. They're still mostly .com and .net, and US and Canadian visitors, but toward the bottom of the list, I'm getting things like:

  • Netherlands: 106 total page hits;
  • Singapore: 78 total page hits;
  • Sweden: 148 total page hits;
  • Denmark: 101 total page hits;
  • Spain: 60 total page hits;
  • Italy: 62 total page hits;
  • Norway: 65 total page hits;
  • South Africa: 52 total page hits;
  • Argentina: 96 total page hits;
  • Belgium: 32 total page hits.

The number of hits is the total of pages that were viewed on the site, once the visitor was there. I don't have my stats set up to show how the people got referred there in the first place, but I've got to think that a large number of them are from your site (based on the fact that a clean 70% of the total referrer hits this month are from DominoPower).

What a big difference the Site of the Month article has made in just a short amount of time. Thanks again for the article!
