Five tips for ND6 (continued)
Okay, so I probably won't totally give up my Workspace until it's pried from my cold, dead hands, but I do very much like the Quick Notes feature in Notes 6. Of course, it doesn't have to be just one or the other. Can't we all just get along? I now have a little Welcome page bookmark icon right above my Workspace bookmark icon. This way I can enjoy the best of the new productivity features of Notes 6 and not be thrust into Workspace withdrawals.

Learn more about Lotus products by watching the 24x7 Webcasts Do you want to learn more about Lotus products but are afraid your eyes will fall out if you have to read another technical article? Do you need to quickly get an overview on certain products but are not sure where to begin? Do you really love to watch TV and wish you could find a way to get paid for it? If you answered yes to any of the preceding questions, or if you want to stay as well informed about the latest developments concerning Lotus products as possible, then you need to be watching the Lotus 24x7 Webcasts. You can find a list of them at http://lotus.com/itmanager.
If you scroll down on that page, you'll find a section with a header titled "Webcasts 24x7" with the following three subsections:
- 24x7 Webcasts for Business Professionals.
There are by far the greatest number of Technical Webcasts (20 at last count) and just a couple of Webcasts for Business Professionals. Be sure to check out the Lotus Masters Satellite Broadcast 24x7 Webcasts, which are replays of live events that Lotus sends out to over 35 viewing locations.
Make sure you check out the following three great new Technical Webcasts that will help you quickly get up to speed on the improvements that have been made in Lotus Notes and Domino 6:
- A Preview of the Notes 6 Client;
- Lotus Domino 6 Server Enhancements;
- What's New for Domino 6 Administration.
While the Webcasts are fairly straightforward to watch, here are some tips to get the most out of them:
- An IBM Web Membership is required in order to view the Webcasts. You'll also need to answer some brief survey questions each time you want to view a Webcast, even if you have already seen it. Don't worry, though, membership is free and easy to get, and there were an average of only four required survey questions for the Webcasts I viewed.
- To pause the presentation, click anywhere on the video of the speaker. To resume playback, click on the video screen again. This comes in useful if you want to try something after hearing about it or if you're interrupted.
- Click the "View By Slide" button above the presentation slide to jump to just the part you want to see. This is handy when you're only able to see part of a Webcast one day and want to return later to see the rest of it.
