Finally, we get the opinion of DominoPower Technical Editor Ron Herardian, whose recent series of articles have taken an in depth look at the Domino versus WebSphere debate. Ron is also CEO and Chief Technical Consultant at Global System Services (GSS), at http://www.gssnet.com. Says Ron, "I don't see dramatic growth in terms of market size. Email and groupware are mature technologies. I do, however, see a potential for Domino 6 to take market share away from Microsoft by migrating users from Exchange 5.5. At the same time IBM is targeting growth markets with new products like WebSphere and the NextGen collaboration products."
