DIGITAL LOTUSPHERE
Pictures from the 'Sphere
By David Gewirtz

Last week, when I filed my very short report from Lotusphere, I promised you a lot more coverage and a lot more pictures from Lotusphere 2004. In this issue, Senior Technical Editor Mick Moignard provides a detailed analysis of the various announcements (and a behind the scenes perspective).

Meanwhile, I was busy with my digital SLR, and below are some more pictures from the show. As Figure A shows, from the minute we walked onto the Product Showcase floor, the place was hopping.

There's lots going on at the Product Showcase Click picture for a larger image.

We knew we were back with old friends when our favorite piece of Lotusphere schwag, the stuffed dolphin shown in Figure B, was once again available from the Group Technologies booth.

FIGURE B

It's the friendest! Click picture for a larger image.

The nice guys at Group, shown in Figure C, were nice enough to give me one. Of course, it didn't last long before Managing Editor Denise Amrich snagged the little fuzzy fish for her own!

Say "Hi" to the Group guys. Click picture for a larger image.

Speaking of Denise, here she is in Figure D with two folks we've talked to a lot, but finally met in person, Justin Kuntz (in the middle) from Prominic.net (at http://www.prominic.net) and Tim Royle (on the right) from Online Corporate Software (at http://www.onlinecorporatesoftware.com).

Denise, Jason, and Tim smile for the camera. Click picture for a larger image.

Next, we got to meet Mani and the gang from Cybernet Software, shown in Figure E, makers of IntelliPRINTPLUS and IntelliVIEW (at http://intelliprint.cybernetsoft.com).

FIGURE E

Mani and the gang were wearing very cool smiley shirts. Click picture for a larger image.

The show wasn't all about great shirts and cool schwag. As you can see in Figure F, the folks at Gessworks (at http://www.gessworks.com) were busy helping customers and prospective customers manage their email flow.

FIGURE F

Can you guess what product can help you manage your mail flow? Click picture for a larger image.

One of my all-time favorite shots is the one in Figure G showing some friends from iEnterprises. I just love the contrast in expressions!

FIGURE G

Don't worry, be happy! Click picture for a larger image.

In Figure H, you can see the team from Alacrinet mug for the camera.

FIGURE H

Say cheese! Click picture for a larger image.

One of the more enjoyable aspects of shooting the show is meeting the people and photographing those who want to be in pictures. The gentleman in Figure I came up to me just as I was getting ready to leave the floor.

FIGURE I

The Pi Sigma Group specializes in offshore development. Click picture for a larger image.

I like big (or reasonably big) iron shots, as you can see first in Figure J.
