Teamstudio Script Browser (continued)
I also tried to see if I could add the Script Browser as a tool to my Designer client. Easy. Editing the Toolbar icon via the Toolbar preferences showed me the one line of formula code used to start the Browser:
@DbColumn( "TMS":"NoCache" ; "CLSVIEW")
|
Yep, I thought that was a pretty weird way of doing it too, but clearly it works. I then went to Designer->Tools->Add Tool, and filled in the dialog as shown in Figure H.

The browser can be added to the Designer Toolbar. Roll over picture for a larger image.
I specified the context as Always, which I think made best sense. Worked just fine, adding the browser to the end of the Tools menu.
A DominoPower rating? Well, it's pretty good, but it's not perfect. It only deals with code in Script Libraries, and calls to that code from other components in the database. Which means that if you have a complex agent, with a lot of subs and functions it's not much help, except that it might encourage you to put all that code in a Script Library. But what it does do it does well. It's easy to use, and integrates with Designer and the Notes client well.
Overall, I give Teamstudio Script Browser a 4 out of 5, but I would like to see few improvements in future versions. The windows aren't resizeable, and that's a pain when looking at sizeable amounts of code. The Toolbar icon is blank. OK, we'll write that off to the fact that I was testing with a beta release of Notes, but I suspect that it's a defect in the installer. On the plus side, it's free. Being free, I can't complain about anything too much, because I haven't paid anything.
