Wireless mesh networks 101 (continued)
Perhaps most important, this method understands and accounts for the environmental and interference factors which can have a significant impact on the wireless signal. Once the design is complete and the network is implemented, you can conduct a limited site survey to determine any adjustments that might be necessary. These may be immediate adjustments or changes over time, based on building or environmental differences that may occur in the future.
Conclusion Clearly, wireless mesh networks are gaining traction. The promise of more complete coverage, faster speed, strong reliability, ease of deployment and a lower cost than many existing options make wireless mesh networks a very attractive and affordable alternative. As city governments, metropolitan areas and businesses evaluate mesh networks, keep in mind they're best suited for large indoor and outdoor spaces where cabling doesn't exist and the design of the network is the most critical factor for completing a successful implementation.
