Upbeat messages from Lotusphere 2006 (continued)

A lot less tat than in previous years, too. Most ubiquitous were Percussion's lime green shirts, and their flashing light badges. Salesplace had Nascar hats, and at the party, gave away hundreds of badges with red flashing lights. All you could see across the Seaworld party -- particularly in the Shamu stadium shown in Figure C, were those damn things flashing away.

The Sphere crowd gets splashed by Shamu. Roll over picture for a larger image.

It was warm this year in Florida, too. Temperatures over 80F most days, and pretty balmy in the evenings. Made a difference for me, certainly, from a cold and frosty UK.

And finally, Not only is Notes not dead, Lotusphere isn't dead either. There be a Lotusphere 2007, and for many more years to come. So persuade your boss somehow to let you go. Try suggesting that he or she comes with you -- that worked for me once! - to join me, DominoPower, and more than 6,000 other geeks at Lotusphere 2007. Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida, January 21 to 25, 2007. Be there or be square.
