Four years later: are Ytria's tools still pretty good? (continued)
Now look at the left pane again, and you can see how you can explore design elements. Figure D shows that I have expanded the list of agents in my mail database, selected one, and then gone back to the agent list header.

Now you can see ScanEz's expanded list of agents. Roll over picture for a larger image.
And at the top of the left panel is a set of buttons that let me do things to the fields in the selected design elements. Neat, dangerous in the wrong hands, certainly, but on occasion, a lifesaver. And then you can go on and explore individual elements in detail.
Figure E shows the same idea on opened documents.
FIGURE E

ScanEz shows a list of documents by form type in the database. Roll over picture for a larger image.
Here is one difference between ScanEz and NotesPeek: speed. There are over 20,000 documents in my mail file, (yeah, I'm not very good at archiving old mail) and it took ScanEz just 10 seconds to show the breakdown. That's a whole pile faster than Notespeek can do it.
If you are opening large databases to explore documents with NotesPeek regularly, then this performance improvement might pay for it all by itself just in reduced waiting time. Note the same buttons available to perform actions on the selected documents.
In Figure F, I have selected a document.
FIGURE F

You can locate a document by searching using a variety of options. Roll over picture for a larger image.
The list on the left isn't that useful -- 16,000 Memo documents in the database is a bit hard to search, so note all the search capabilities. And you can see the field list, and at the bottom, two tabs display the Note ID data, or an edit pane for the selected field.
Then you have the ability to look at fields in multiple documents, compare documents, resolve conflicts, explore last modified dates and replication info, and even export documents to DXL.
This is one product that is getting close to function overload, or as Editor Dave put it in another place, "feature diarhea"! I could go on a lot more about ScanEz, but I think you get the picture. ScanEz is everything that NotesPeek could or should be but isn't, and then a whole lot more besides.
ActionBarEz action bar controller Next we have ActionBarEz. This really doesn't do anything that can't be done in Domino Designer, but it does make it easier to review actions across multiple elements. Figure G shows two forms selected in the selection window, top left.
FIGURE G

ActionEz can explore actions in multiple design elements. Roll over picture for a larger image.
The main window, centre, shows the actions listed for those forms, and on the right, a properties box for the selected action. Note that the properties box looks pretty familiar -- this rework of the Domino Designer properties turns up in several places around the product suite, and I have to say, rather improves on Designer in places.
One thing that ActionBarEz can do that's hard in Designer is importing the appearance of an action bar and then splatting that across selected bars in your target. All you have to do then is close and re-open the target database in Notes or Domino to see the effect. Which means that it's easy to manage a standard look-and-feel for your applications.
