DOMINOPOWER SITE OF THE MONTH
Collect from deadbeats with Domino

This month's DominoPower Magazine Site of the Month is Commercial Recovery Corporation (CRC), a commercial collections agency, shown in Figure A.

CRC has about 200 client companies with close to 300 users accessing and tracking their accounts online. Kevin Layne, CRC's Manager of Information Services, says, "We are really kind of becoming an extension of our clients' A/R departments. They can log on anytime, view all the data on their accounts including the collector notes and next contact dates. They can place new accounts through the Web site and send their own comments and instructions back to us and we can act on them almost immediately."
CRC's Web site has been up since March 1999 and runs on Domino 4.6 running on an AS/400.
Kevin says that CRC's Web site is unusual, because Domino and Notes Pump primarily drive the site. The reason why they choose this solution is because the folks at CRC were looking for something to access data residing on an AS/400. This would allow clients to access and track their accounts.
Kevin also added, "Because Domino and Notes Pump run natively on the AS/400, initial development could be accomplished without strong programming skill sets in SQL, Java, and other methods."
Security was another reason for their choice of platform. They felt that Domino's security model combined with the AS/400 gave CRC a secure Web site for their clients' data.
