So, once again, here's a DominoPower Exclusive for you to enjoy.

When you're at the office, your Lotus Notes applications keep you more productive and in touch. But what happens when you leave the office to attend meetings or to take a business trip? How do you stay up-to-date with your core business applications -- from sales force automation, to field service to corporate directories -- and the data they contain?

The Pylon suite of products, which includes Pylon Pro, Pylon Conduit, and Pylon ServerSync, allows Lotus Notes-based messaging solutions to be instantly deployed on mobile devices without any changes to Notes applications and without programming. In addition, personal information is accessible through native applications on each mobile device.

Individuals and companies in real-world environments have been using Pylon products for a while. As the publishers of this software, we've found that there are some common questions that get asked. The following are the ten most frequently asked questions about the products and, of course, the answers that can help you better deploy your mobile applications.

Question #1: Can I synchronize multiple Address Books, multiple mailboxes, and/or multiple Date Books?
Yes, you can use multiple address books as long as they are based on Notes Address Book templates. You can synchronize them all with the single Address Book application on the Palm device. This requires that each additional Notes database use a different Palm device Category Sync. By default, the personal Address Book of Notes is mapped to use the entire Palm device Address Book.

For example, to configure the corporate Address Book of Notes, check the View Additional Databases box in the Pylon section of the location document and click the More button of Additional Database 1 (or any other additional database). In the Lotus Notes Configuration section select Server and Database to specify the corporate Address Book, and in the Palm Device Configuration section select AddressDB for Database (database type) and a name (e.g., "Corporate") for Category Sync. You can use additional databases for additional Address Books. You don't have to specify a Category Sync for the primary Address Book, and it can use multiple categories (15, minus the number of additional Address Books used). The additional databases are each in a single category -- the Category Sync.
